Vahanen is a Finnish technical consulting organisation in the construction and property industry whose aim is to build healthy living environments. Owning the responsibility of building success stories, Vahanen offers services across the full lifecycle of a building. Vahanen Group is spread across Finland nationwide and employees around 400 people.
The need to update Vahanen’s visual identity came apparent when a new direction for their brand communication was sought after and their existing identity didn’t feel accurate anymore. There was also a great opportunity to bring Innovarch, an esteemed architecture agency inside the Vahanen Group, closer to the brand family.
The objective was to create a modern, courageous brand who is distinctively different and more relaxed, easier to approach and seen as a knowledgeable expert in the industry.
We started renewing the visual identity by drilling down into the vision and values of the company, and moved onto understanding the competitive landscape through multiple exercises. Crafting an authentic, honest brand starts from within and so we wanted to involve Vahanen’s project team heavily along the process. Together we also planned a brand image survey to gather data and understanding from their existing stakeholders.
In addition to the new Vahanen / Innovarch visual identity and its graphic guidelines, we created a selection of different brand materials, such as business cards, brochures, decals and roll-ups.
We also were responsible for an extensive website renewal, where the two brands were applied and combined to two separate WordPress websites into one multisite installation to ensure easy management and continuous development.
